Random Thoughts

Back after a long time now mainly to while away my time here. What does one do when you get a whole month of free time in office? Probably people working with me from what i see get busy with their mobiles and net. There are a few rare specimens who would go about and try improving their knowledge by learning something technical. But what would i do????????? I just sit in my cub and start day dreaming. Dreaming of all the not so very important thing in life like -
"Hmmmmm...........what was the movie that i can watch this weekend?????"
or still better -
"What should i think about now in order to spend time?"
This doesn't mean that i'm entirely free ok. I have got things to do like prepare and give some assessments in office, take back-up of the current project, so on and so forth. But when not given a task in hand with a deadline to meet there's always a single thought "I CAN DO IT LATER" - that makes me busy enough to get back to my day dreaming part.

Chocolates

Yup the yummy delecious chocolate is my topic for the day. If we consume the same type of food again and again evrytime it's said that we lose interest in it. But it never seems to happen so when it comes to things like chocolate and ice-cream (especially the one which has the hot chocolate sauce poured over them).

Ok the main reason to talk about them is because my cousin had called me from states last month and asked me what i want from there and immediate reply given by me was "CHOCOLATES". When he said that's default and asked what else i want i was like an extra packet of chocolate for me.Whatelse am i suppose to ask when that's what i want. But everycousin who come from the US always visit our house loaded with a huge box of chocolates. How sweet of them right? But imagine when all of them get the same kisses chocolates? Oh comeon i don't mind having those small chocolates but would always prefer bars(This information is for all those people who plan to get me chocolates).

Imagine a late evening, when you can sit on a swing with a good book in one hand and a big bar of tasty chocolate in other! Now include a melodious romantic number being played in your background. WOW! I simply love that. Nothing peaceful and enjoyable then this. This combination is more then enough for me to while away my time. But even if one of the major ingredient goes missing then off goes the beauty, the mood and all. And the best way to treat yourself when you get angry is again to stuff your mouth with chocolates so that you don't let it out on others;)

Hence, be whatever the situation, mood, place, time, etc it's always lovely to have a bar of chocolate i hand and enjoy it.

PS: Nowhere in this blog have i mentioned anything about sharing of chocolates. So never except me to give a share, it's the worst thing to do:(

A Time To Dream!

Is there really a particular time to dream or is it that we dream always and we don't really realise? What is the basic difference between thinking and dreaming?

Meaning of the word:
Dream - a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep.
Thought - the product of mental activity; that which one thinks: a body of thought.
Think - to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, etc.

Now, if thinking and dreaming are not the same and if the difference between them is CONSCIOUSNESS then how do people know what they dreamt? I am not sure whether i dream or not cause i don't get to tell anything like this was my dream yesterday and other stuffs. Probably i can share what i think not what i dream. Also, many say that we need to dream big to achieve big. Does that mean we can decide what we want to dream?

Aavani Avittam

Hey guys here i'm talk about the festival we celebrate today. It's called AAVANI AVITTAM ( the sacred thread day). There are loads of memory regarding this day right from my chilhood. Ya this is the only festival celebrated by us where i'm side tracked and my brother given more importance :(

During my childhood, we (my big bro and me) used to bunk school and go to our grandparents house. From there of use to go all the male clan of the family along with their Princess (that's me) to the near-by temple where a big Ceremony is conducted and it begins when they recite all the japas and then finally change their Sacred-Thread. I remember one particular japa which they have to chant a 1008 times, THE GAYATHRI JAPAM. It goes as follows:

Om booth bovasvaha,
thatsa vithurvarenyam,
bargo devasya dhee mahi,
diyo yonah prachodayath
Everytime i recite this japam along with my dad and bro, my grandma would say not to do so. Never knew the real reason then as to why i'm not supposed to say it when they keep reciting on and on the whole day.But later my dad called me over and made me sit on his lap and said -" Kanna(added my me, my dad is a person who never potrays his feeling out and ya you can see them in his eyes), there is not harm is reciting any of the God slokas, the reason why paati is asking you not to say this is because It's a very powerful Sloka and the words that are said must come from deep down your stomach." Again just took my dad's words and never understood the real reason even then. Later when i got a little old, I understood the real reason. It is said that for this particular Japam, the words had to be stressed and they must arise from the abdomen and the power of the words are so strong that they might destroy the womb of a woman. Don't know how much this fact is true now in this scientific world but ya that was the reason given by my dad and till today i recite it in my mind rather then saying out aloud . Oh come on i guess there's no harm is reciting in mind ;)
And to the major event of the day, ones the ceremony is over we all return back home. Here, aarathi is taken for them and i take up one side.( For people who do not know who or what Aarathi is, it's a small ceremony that's done on all good occasions to remove all the evil eyes set on the family. Here a plate containing water mixed with kumkum, chandanam, etc is to be held by two ladies and they need to rotate it 3 times in clock-wise direction and another 3-times in anticlock-wise direction in front of the family. Ones this is done, the person on whom this is done needs to put money on the plate. This money is shared between the two ladies who do it.) WOW! Hence everytime this procedure is followed i grab one end of the plate mainly for the reward that is obtained and being the youngest i don't even have to share the money that is put on the plate with my mom or perima. And also everytime my dad stand the other side he deposits and lot of coins and asks me to count and tell my collection for the day. This was the most enjoyable part for me as i would sit next to my dad and keep asking him if i had counted correctly and when the next occasion is nearly to come where i can take aarathi again.
Ones all this procedures are done, the entire family sit together for the delicious food(yet another main purpose of celebration). The food that day would contain a lot of varieties starting from the PAYASAM to vada, pachchadi, sundal, appalam, etc. After the food is the time to rest and gossips (ie) While all the male clan of the house will be busily sleeping( yup they are pakka brahims, the moment they are done with the food they take a nap even if u keep repeating them a 100 times that's not good foe health) the female clan will be busy washing vessels and gossiping about the next house mama-mami or some serial uncle-aunty or any such non-sense(non-sense because i don't understand a word) and the kids will be busy watching T.V. Finally when it's evening all of them set to their respective houses to get back to their normal routine.
So the same procedure followed year after year after year, yet it's differs each time just as the way the taste of the same dish varies each time you prepare it. But for the past few years, i'm either at college or work instead of enjoying the day and by the time i reach home there's no sign of any celebration except for the dishes of-course :( Hope to get back and enjoy all those lovely days.To everyone out there "HAPPY AAVANI AVITTAM"
PS: Today is also suppose to be Raksha Bandhan day. Hence to all those lovely brothers out there - "HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN". Take good care of your cute sisters and get them all that they want.
PPS: To my brother. You better get me something special this time ;)

My Penseive

Let me first welcome myself to this wonderful world of BLOGGING!

To start with my introduction - My friends say that they have never met a person as crazy as me. But who cares in me being crazy. I love doing things that strikes me at the moment like going for a long wetty drive on a rainny day or eating maggie late at the night. What fun one has doing such things at the most unruly hours. I am know as a morning Queen (that's just abt my name - Usha) but enjoy being the night owl.

I guess that's enough an introduction about me. So now coming to my Blogging skills - Hey do we need any skills to blog ! Yup and that's - Having thoughts to share and also sharing thought in a way all understand. I am 100% sure that i have got the first one as i keep dreaming the whole time and there's never a break for my thoughts and ideas. My PENSEIVE is ever flowing and can never be completly collected. But regarding the second half - "sharing thought in a way all understand" hmmm....... Guess I need to work on that area in order to excel it. But what is this Forum for that helping me learn while u all gain access to my thoughts.

Hence here's declaring the entry of the most dumbest yet lovable person into the world of blogging.
